He asked... and she said, "Yes!"

I proposed to Aiana after a year and seven months of dating, which landed on May 15, 2014. I have been in love with this girl for quite sometime and I knew that she was the one for me. I knew she was the one for me because I realized that I wanted to spend every moment with her. She puts a smile on my face, constantly makes me laugh, and is so much fun to be around, I just love being with her and I know that feeling will never go away.
We decided that we wanted to go on a vacation and after looking at a few vacation spots, we settled on exploring Disney World. What a perfect place to propose, since we all know how much she loves Disney.
As time was counting down to a couple weeks before our big vacation I scrambled to find the time to ask her family’s blessing. We usually have dinner with the family on Wednesdays so I found a few moments alone with her brothers for their approval. After getting their permission, it was on to Mr. Poquiz. Asking for her father’s permission was a very nerve-racking experience. So I was relieved and excited when he said, “Yes!” followed with a hand-shake and a hug… (achievement unlocked!) Aiana and I are old-fashion and family is very important to us, so I knew it was important to get the approval stamp from her family as well as mine.
With that all done and squared away, it was time to plan the big moment. Disney World is massive and with us only being there for a few days, Aiana had asked me to create an itinerary for our trip. Once again, perfect, I can plan everything out and she won’t expect a thing. So many choices, so many options… what to do. After doing some research, I found out that there’s a firework every night in front of the Cinderella’s castle, her favorite princess. As soon as I read that, I knew that’s where it had to be.
Everything was going as planned: We were at Disney World, having a blast. It was the happiest day of her life because she got to meet her favorite princess! I was afraid that she might think something was wrong …I knew I wasn’t acting like myself that day. As the day drew closer to an end, I started to get nervous. There was a parade scheduled before the fireworks so we decided to get ourselves an awesome spot and that happened to be right in front of the castle.
As the parade came to and end, I started to get really nervous again. My plan was to propose during the fireworks show. I thought, how cool would it be to have the fireworks going off while I was on one knee reciting my well thought out speech. The parade is now over and the fireworks show has begun. I had the ring in pocket, so I had to be sneaky and grab it without her knowing. Okay, I had the ring, the fireworks were going off, its GO TIME!!! I tried to get her attention, but she shot me down. The fireworks were going off… I don’t blame her, we just sat here for two hours waiting to watch this amazing show… But eventually it has to end and when it does, it’s GO TIME!!!
When I finally got her attention I held her close and said, “I love you with all my heart. You are my everything. The past year and seven months have been the best adventure of my life and I want that adventure to continue. Will you marry me?” I got down on one knee and opened the box that lit-up, as she saw the ring sparkled she nodded her head and with a big smile, she said, “Yes!”
Everything about that day was amazing. I was at the happiest place on earth, with my favorite person, who makes me incredibly happy, and officially got engaged in front of Cinderella’s Castle. This is just the beginning of our fairytale.
